The Ida Township Volunteer Fire Department (I.V.F.D.) consists of paid-on-call and part-time firefighters covering 58 square miles, comprising all of Ida Township and Raisinville Township south of the River Raisin.
The I.V.F.D. responds to fire and medical emergencies, as well as motor vehicle crashes, mutual aid requests, power line hazards, odor investigations, hazardous materials, and severe weather.
All personnel are trained and certified as firefighters and medical first responders, at a minimum. Many members have advanced certifications or degrees.
