The Ida Township Volunteer Fire Department (I.V.F.D.) consists of paid-on-call and part-time firefighters covering 58 square miles. This includes all of Ida Township and Raisinville Township south of the Raisin River. The I.V.F.D. responds to fire and medical emergencies, as well as motor vehicle crashes, mutual aid requests, power line hazards, odor investigations, hazardous materials, and severe weather.
